Does mother have dairy in her diet?  If yes -- even a little -- I'd get rid
of it two-times-quick, though if that is part of the problem it can still
take anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks for symptoms to go away.

My first child had horrible bowel problems from dairy in my diet, and this is
in my experience pretty common.

My second did not, but her GER and its probable relation to dairy sensitivity
are the subject of a post from me just this week, which you can read in the
archives if you missed it.
