Dear Michael,
There is no evidence that I know of to support taking acidophilus to increase production - have never heard of this, in fact. If milk production is not the problem, why would you want to increase supply anyways? Is it possible that her pump is malfunctioning? Has she tried hand expression instead of or in addition to pumping? Can she pump on one side while baby is nursing on the other? It is possible that as her breast size/contour has changed, she may need a different size flange for optimum pumping. Has she tried a different pump? Or she may need to try some of the usual tricks for stimulating a let-down - breast and/or neck massage, nipple stimulation, breast dangling, warm compresses. Just a few quick thoughts.
