This mother has already had a viremia with the virus, and if the baby is
going to get it, the baby already has it, likely. Do we believe what we say
about breastfeeding protecting the baby, especially colostrum? If we do, we
should have no hesitation in saying that unless this is some sort of weird
virus, the mother should breastfeed. After all, the majority of viruses
causing viral meningitis are the same that cause colds or gastroenteritis.
