Thanks so much for your information. How about the following as a beginning protocol.
A mother could express colostrum for her baby ahead of time:
After 37 weeks gestation
Could manually express into a small glass or plastic container(tupperware makes those small ones with lids) and refrigerate for 48 hours. After 48 hours, if you haven't delivered, then freeze.
Express 5-10 minutes per breast per day
When you deliver if you need to supplement in the hospital, bring in the fresh colostrum from the refrigerator. Then progress to the frozen if needed. Feed by spoon or cup.
If you don't need it in the hospital, you can give the colostrum to the baby by cup or spoon at home if needed before your milk comes in.
What about mothers who are hospitalized prenatally?
