I also read the article and felt the deep sadness in it like Rachel said. I
stopped reading for a while at this passage:
> The mother said "she thought her breast milk would be adequate nutrition and
although she realized the baby
> was poorly nourished, she did not take the baby for medical care for fear the
baby and/or her other children
> might be removed by Child Protective Services," according to the coroner's
report

How can a mother of 8 children be so scared to have her children taken away by
an institition for child protection, that she'd rather starve a baby to death?
How protective for children and families is such an child protective service?
And why wasn't anyone out there able to teach this mom about breastfeeding and
problem solving in non-thriving infants? And how can a mother of 8 not see that
her baby is dying? All the other children were well nourished, the house was
taken care of, all seemed fine but the baby.
It's a really confusion situation and I feel deeply sorry for this family. There
must be some other tragedy there to explain this.
