I remember seeing at a conference a historical drawing of a mother with an
infant at the breast and her toddler suckling from a nipple on her leg. The
talk was briefly on sites of supernumerary nipples along the milk line. On
pg 41 of Ruth Lawrence's book(1994) there is a drawing of the milk line that
extends into the upper legs. Although the drawing showed the toddler nursing
on the lower leg. So it wouldn't surprise me that tingling sensations could
extend into the legs from breastfeeding with some women. After seeing that
picture, I thought if only I had that when I was tandem nursing..just think
of all the things I could do on the run. Valerie W. McClain, IBCLC
