I know how you feel.  I put a new copy of my book in our Pediatric Clinics each
year.  And yes, for years they were always lifted. So I started tearing off half of
the front cover.   The pilferage ceased.

Seems no one wants to steal a "damaged" copy.  Just food for thought.
