Summary of Practice guidelines for preoperative fasting . . . Anesthesiology
1999 Mar;90(3):896-905

Recommends 2 hrs fast from clear liquids, 4 hrs fast from human milk, 6 hrs
fast from infant formula. Also refers to fasting for 6 or more hours from
intake of a light meal or non-human milk.
