In my NSHO-
I too see the Walmart breastfeeding items as almost all positive. It
makes me wish that I had a Walmart nearby (This summer I was in a Walmart
for the first time at the LLLI conference). Breastfeeding acceptance is
obviously on the rise. Women have been buying totally inadequate pumps
and other "vital" breastfeeding gadgets for many years. They try to
nurse with only the ABM manufacturers products and information. Few go
to LLL or other prenatal breastfeeding classes and then they are
surprised that the beginning can be hard. Anything that takes
breastfeeding out of the "THAT is for fanatics" category and can provide
good information via the sale of books is a wonderful step.
