Laurie,
Thanks to you and to all who have responded. I did suggest the pre and post
weight but mom didn't want to follow through. I think this was a case of a
day late and a dollar short. I just heard from this woman. I have not
worked with her nor have I even seen her nor her baby. This has been just
phone consults - very discouraging from my end. The warning flags have been
present from day one as mom's milk supply did not "come in for at least a
week". When using a pump after each feed and fenugreek suppplements TID,
there has been only slight increase in the milk supply. The thing that kept
the peds at bay was that the baby was so content, looking healthy and having
the wet/poopy diapers. Not much a person can do when suggestions are not
taken up on and money is an issue so that a home visit is not wanted.
Frustrating, to say the least! The other thing is that I am sure I am not
the only person that this woman has contacted and she has taken some
suggestions from others so there has been no consistency to anything. Too
many cooks.......

The good news of the day is that I was able to get a 5 day old latched on
for the first time! Not only did I have success but mom did on her own as
well. Thanks again for your help.
